Heart for Haiti with Angelica

Angelica Laudermith was our previous Campus Minister from 2007-2010.  When she took the Haitian Solar Oven Mission trip in March of 2009 she know she was being called into full time mission work.  She wasn't sure it was in Haiti, but after going to Costa Rica the following summer on a UMVIM training mission trip she knew Haiti is where her heart was.  In 2010-2011 she spent 11 months as an Individual Volunteer in Mission with Haitian Artisans for Peace International (HAPI) were she worked with artisans in the area and did communication for the organizations supporters in the United States.  She wasn't able to stay busy with HAPI and also loved the 2 months she helped out teaching English Classes with Living Media International.  LMI was more then happy to have her aboard with their organization.  They work in the same community Mizak Haiti at all different levels of education.   Living Media International has a Primary school, english classs, 2 kids clubs, creole literacy classes, dreamer program, child school sponsor, proverty intervention team, leadership training, and art gallery.  Angelica is helping with English classes and a typing class, working with local artisans on developing their projects and the art gallery, working with New Life Primary school on an english program, assisting the LMI staff on their projects and communications for the organization.  Angelica works on faith for this project.  The church has been supportive in setting up matching funds through missoins and the United Methodist Women as also dontated as well as individual members of the chruch.  Here is a link to Angelica's Heart for Haiti website.  Please feel free to contact her.

What a great message led by Angelica Laudermith at our SPringville (MI) UMC. It moved many of us and we appreciated having her family with her as well. We understand more of how we can help, how the Haitians are helping each other and, we heard her message, "If not us , who?"
